'Sometimes i think i was born backwards. You know, came out my mum the wrong way. I hear words go past me backwards. The people i should love, I hate. And the people i hate...' -effy stonem

it's been a long time since i tried drawing anything- so i thought i'd start off with something/someone i liked first, so it'd be easier. Or so i thought. No need to guess who, it's a no-brainer since the name is scribbled there- but it's effy anyway. Effy stonem/kaya scodelario from SKINS. She's the most gorgeous thing ever. Took reference from a picture that's part of a really stunning photoshoot of her.

I was sketching with the pencil then halfway i thought- oh, drop the pencil. And i picked up a pen, which strangely felt pretty awesome and empowering (because i usually hate pens cause there's no reversing or erasing your mistakes, you pretty much live with it-) No shading yet cause i don't really know how to with pens- the general shade-and-smudge technique that i've been living with using pencils can't apply for pens, so i'd have to improve somehow. But i'll get better at it/this.

Maybe it signifies a greater change- like the time when i finally picked up the courage to make the transition from trusty colour pencils to watercolour (impossibly hard to grasp, i hard imagined. But in reality easy to pick up, hard to master).
