clogs are all the rage this season (which is ending soon), but since it's eternal summer here, i thought i'd do a pic-spam post devoted to clogs. It's interesting because i did a little read up about clogs, and actually they're really utilitarian shoes that are very humble-looking (left) made to serve the purpose as protective clothing in factories, mines and farms originally, but you add a bit of coutoure and tada, there you are. About 8765432345678765432456 different designs and colours, brand names and you get sky high prices.

I really am quite intrigued about the clog as a shoe- but i can't help this feeling of being vulnerable and exposed and naked- like the back of my heel is dangling in no where when i'm wearing a pair of clogs. So thus far i have yet to own a pair.
There are the criss cross, or backstrap ones, but they are such as ass(IMO). i dunno, just don't like the feeling of some piece of thing tightly clinging on to the back of my heel. cover, or totally exposed. i'm not really an halfway-er.

left to right, top to bottom: Diane von Furstenberg zip clogs; Gucci clogs;
Vera Wang biker 'Daisy' clogs; Ugg clogs. Just my opinion- zip clogs are trying too hard.

Clockwise: Zara, £99, Kurt Geiger, £150, Topshop, £40, and Aldo, £70.

the zara ones are quite pretty, in a very toned-down way, and i like the tassle details. since you can get a look-a-like from taobao.com for about 1/10 of the price, i might just get a pair- but maybe after my foot fully recovers. No point collecting nice shoes but being unable to wear them.

So what do you think? awesome, or blah?
