It's actually rather common in life,
can be (rather aptly) characterized by Gestalt psychology,
but seems rather counter-intuitive and illogical if you ask me;
as the wise philosopher Aristotle once said,

"The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts"

A + B = C
but C > A + B


to me,
that's when two people in love are together.
