sometimes i cannot help but think that mindsets are just like bra-
because sometimes you don't need them-
Firstly it's because of practice. years and years and you've been grown, conditioned and nutured to think/behave in a certain way, that it comes second nature that it's so difficult to jump out of that closed loop that's been a major part of your life. You sleep with your bra on, wear it with corsets, and even with gowns/swimsuits that have inner padding.
And then there's the worry. What if it shows? is the material not thick enough? blah blah blah. it's the feeling of insecurity that devours you, and you give in to that unsettling feeling only to realise that after adopting it/putting it on, it's really unnecessary and makes you feel incredibly uncomfortable. It's also the conservative, risk-aversive attitude that prevents you from being more open-minded to people and things-
and lastly more often than not, if you get a mindset/bra that's in the 'wrong size',
you end up looking (and feeling) weird, and behaving in a manner that's only disadvantageous to yourself.
the thing is, you don't always have to have a certain mindset, or wear a bra-
because you shouldn't (always) be restricted to/within a boundary/circle, because people should always give themselves more room to explore, and to enjoy the kind of freedom that restrictions disallow.
sometimes all it takes is the first step-
once you get over the mental barrier things are so much easier and better,
and you won't ever want to go back to being the restrictive and conservative self you were before.
i'm not saying that bras are unnecessary-
i'm just saying that, sometimes, you don't need one.
