The stage was set for me to play
but I decided on the day that i did not believe the page
I walked away because of you

just like Tiresias on you
that me and you were fated too

we asked the church to save our souls
they said me were too early and to join the fold (?)
i lay and watch you sleep beneath the citrus sky
pretending not to see you through my wanting eyes

i knew you could (be the one)
i knew you should (be the one)
i knew you could (be the one)
be the one be the one
(repeat)

my past was painted on a wall
but with a look you made a fool
i placed you flag into a ball
i'll follow you for any cause
i'll fight for you in any wars
and all to say that i am yours

we asked the church to save our souls
they said me were too early and to join the fold (?)
i lay and watch you sleep beneath the citrus sky
pretending not to see you through my wanting eyes

i knew you should (be the one)
i knew you could (be the one)
i knew you would (be the one)
be the one be the one
(repeat)

did we really? did we really fall in love?
(be the one be the one)
did we really? did we really fall in love?
(be the one be the one)

i knew you should (be the one)
i knew you could (be the one)
i knew you would (be the one)
be the one be the one
(repeat)

did we really? did we really fall in love?
(be the one be the one anekatips.com)
did we really? did we really fall in love?
(be the one be the one)

She was the girl with the string around her neck,
With the boy who could only give her less.
It could be more if she learned to never expect,
And now she's her and him and then a baby next.

The wedding bells won't ring, but she couldn't care less,
You exist, when you're living in a dream world.

He grew up drinking milk from the cow, from the farm.
He was the traitor's father's father's father.
His father made him go give back to his country.
He gave his both knees, his overseas to fight the disease.

It's spreading fast over maps and it don't look back,
When you're living in a dream world.

It is a lion's science fiction wings,
Just like a jolly dizzy for zero, one, three times
The size of the people that came before.
Me and you and what we'd do for money.

This greed and jealousy turn to need.
See, I'm a man with a plan to use my hands.
I'm touching yours, you're the girl who wanted more.
Now baby, the story has faded from love to lie.

The clover under your feet is shooting stars in the night.
The people under your feet are shooting stars in the night.
The people, all that you meet, they're living in a dream world

[this song is really quite awesome, but i do get the feeling that it sounds strangely familar, like i might have dreamed of this in my mixed states of consciousness. was this ever the 'it' indie song of the moment? i think it might have been played to levels of mass recognition and popularity before...

the ironic/funny part is me discovering it at this very moment...]

----------------------------------------------
i know indie music is [somewhat] overhyped but once in a while i hear something in a random place in a random situation and i find myself uncontrollably hooked to the song [which may have and probably have been the 'it' song of the moment some time ago, which i understand, sadly, is kind of ironic? because if it's popular then it kind of loses it's original intended value, cause indie music is supposed to be independent, and, usually, somewhat obscure, if unknown]

sometimes [as silly it seems]
you can really connect with a song;

it's like the song of your life;

it's like singing your woes, your troubles,
the little nuances, the small insignificances

it's like the part of you/your life that matters the most,
can be summarized into 4 or 5 minutes, 20-40 lines of lyrics
sometimes, even random nonsense syllables, or weird melodies

it's an uncanny feeling.
