the whole stretch down orchard road eating into somerset now is lined with shopping centre after shopping centre, boasting creative, edgy designs, fancy christmas and gaudy non-christmas lightings, with 2 LV stores within less than 200m proximity and wasteful decorations decked all over and i am certain that the singapore tourism board/urban redevelopment authorities must be really delighted and pleased with themselves for this arrangement/planning because we finally might really be able to live up to being a real posh 'shopping paradise'
but i can't conceal my disappointment at how bad the light pollution is getting in singapore
have we gotten to the stage that only artificial things such as christmas or advertisement lights are the things of things that attract us/we find attractive, and shopping centres seem to be the only place; shopping seems to be the only way to pass our time?
maybe by the time my grandchildren are born
[if i do get my married with children
and if my children get married and have children]
we won't be able to see even satellites anymore.
smashing, really. way to go, singapore.
