what is a backslab cast?
A temporary plaster cast which has no plaster of paris at the front of the cast. This allows a degree of swelling to occur comfortably, for example immediately post-operatively. A complete cast allows no such increase in size of the limb and can lead to pain and a restiction in blood supply due to swelling in the rigid cast.
as for photos, it kind of looks something like the picture below. the same except with tints of green (yay) since the backslab thing under the white wrap is actually green in colour.

Yes my hands/arms are fine but somehow i just couldn't get past the 'patient-wearing-makeup-is-damn-weird' mentality and therefore have been subsisting without eyeliner for the past few weeks. Haven't been tending to my skin much either. oh well. i guess bad skin, bad form, etc all comes as a package with the 'i-am-a-patient' status. Easier to gain sympathy and get people to open doors for you.
